Recognizing the Viktoria and Jefferson

In our June 2026 board meeting, we recognized the tremendous contributions of Viktoria and Jefferson Haase over their many years of service the Historical Society. Viktoria just wrapped her stint as our president, handing the role to Allison Lenk.

Viktoria is a living encyclopedia Belmont’s history, both local details and how we fit into the larger Massachusetts context. Jefferson is a descendant of the Underwood family, which owned quite a bit of land in Belmont and has been generous to the town over the decades. Jefferson serves as the Historical Society’s “Stationmaster”, for the Wellington Station.

The BHS presented a plaque that will find a home inside Wellington Station.
